With the mounting pressure on police forces to put their operating costs under scrutiny and cut costs a survey of North Wales’ police officers and civilian staff has revealed the hardly startling fact that police have to select the crimes they will actually attend over the ones they can’t due to lack of resource and man power. The unfortunate consequence of this is that if it comes down to choosing between attending a breach in security of your business or attending a householder reporting a burglar in their home, it may well be that your business has to join the queue.

“Although this survey is hardly startling in its revelations, what it does point to is the need for organisations to review their security systems and, to elevate its status above that of other functions including procurement and facilities management”, says Stephen Smith, Sales and Marketing Director at ISM.
